Botox
Botox is a purified neurotoxin complex, which blocks neuromuscular conduction.
(Paralyzes the muscle).
Botox is most often used on the face for frown lines, crows feet and lip wrinkling.
Botox is an FDA approved injection.
In most cases, the Botox injection takes about 20 minutes and is a non-surgical
procedure. No down time is expected. Most injections last about 4 to 6 months.
Collagen
Collagen is a natural protein that provides the skin with a smoother and oftentimes
fuller appearance. Collagen is primarily used to fill wrinkles, lines and small
scars.
Collagen is from a purified bovine collagen which has been FDA approved since
1981. This product often lasts for 3 to 6 months in the treated areas.
The injection is a non-surgical procedure, which takes about 15 minutes depending
upon the areas treated. You can expect to have little or no down time, however
some redness is expected following the treatment. All patients must have a test
dose 3 months prior to the injection
Cymetra
Cymetra is a non-surgical product that restores soft tissue imperfections.
This product is a real tissue replacement. Cymetra helps enhance your skin by
eliminating fine lines, small scars and facial sagging.
Cymetra is used most commonly on the following areas:
Lips: Helps to restore their natural shape.
Nasal Lines: Diminishes the creases that appear from the nose to the mouth,
giving your appearance a smoother look.
Facial Creases: Smoothes deep wrinkles such as laugh lines and facial creases.
Scars: Reduces the appearance of acne scarring and depressed scars from injury
or disease.
The injection is approximately a 20-minute procedure and one can expect little
or no down time following the injection. Cymetra generally lasts about 6 to
8 months.
